Day 1

Arrival in Agadir at the Al Massara airport

Upon your arrival at Al Massira Airport in Agadir, our dedicated staff will be there to welcome you. We will then embark on a journey to Essaouira, passing through the picturesque argan plantations native to this region. After a scenic drive of just over two hours, we will arrive in Essaouira. You will be accommodated in a charming Riad, with free time to savor your first evening in Morocco. Enjoy a delightful dinner and an overnight stay at the Riad.

Day 2

Essaouria, the Alisei’s city

Spend your free day exploring the picturesque town of Essaouira, perched on the Atlantic and framed by long, deserted beaches and formidable walls. Rich in history as a Phoenician trading post and a center for purple dye production, Essaouira was rebuilt in the 18th century with a medina, port, and mellah. This cosmopolitan town attracts people from Africa and Europe, blending colors, scents, lifestyles, sounds, and languages. Wander through the port, markets, and seafront bastions known as the Skala, and explore artisanal shops and galleries showcasing renowned craftsmanship in thuya root, textiles, sculpture, and painting. Enjoy a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay in a Riad.

Day 3

From Essaouria to Marrakech

Breakfast in the Riad. A little more relax and then Marrakech awaits us. When you are ready, we will depart for Marrakech, arriving after approximately 3 hours of travel. Upon arrival in this vibrant city, renowned for its rich history, stunning architecture, and bustling souks, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in its unique atmosphere. Marrakech, often referred to as the "Red City" due to its distinctive terracotta buildings, is home to iconic landmarks such as the Koutoubia Mosque, the exquisite Bahia Palace, and the enchanting Majorelle Garden. Explore the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where storytellers, musicians, and street performers create a captivating spectacle, and savor the tantalizing flavors of Moroccan cuisine at the local eateries. After a day of discovery, unwind in the comfort of your luxurious Riad, enjoying the serene ambiance and traditional Moroccan hospitality. Overnight stay in the Riad.

Day 4

Marrakech, guided tour of the Medina

Breakfast in the Riad and then go exploring Marrakech, an Imperial City and UNESCO World Heritage Site. At 9:00 AM, meet our esteemed Tour Guide, who will accompany you on an enchanting tour of Marrakech’s Medina. Our journey begins at the iconic Jemaa el-Fna Square, the vibrant heart of the city: here, we will encounter skilled artisans selling their handcrafted wares, Berber merchants with their unique products, and hear the captivating music of snake charmers echoing through the air. Women offering intricate henna designs, photogenic monkeys, and carts brimming with fresh oranges for juice add to the lively atmosphere. It remains a place of immense charm and vitality, partly due to its bustling souk (market).

 

Marrakech's center is easily navigated on foot. After a delightful stroll, we will reach the Saadian Tombs, constructed during the reign of the great Sultan Ahmad I al-Mansur (1578-1603) for the Saadi dynasty members. The intricate interior decorations are a highlight for visitors. We will then encounter the Koutoubia Minaret, one of North Africa's most stunning Islamic monuments, with its tower featuring unique ornaments on each side and lush gardens at its base.

 

Next, we visit the Bahia Palace, built in the 19th century (1867) by Sir Moussa as the Sultan’s residence. The Sultan aimed to create the most magnificent palace of all time, hence the name Bahia, meaning brilliant. Here, we will admire an array of exquisite gardens before making our way to the serene Majorelle Gardens. After the tour, enjoy some free time at your leisure. Overnight stay in the Riad.

Day 5

Marrakech, High Atlas, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, Dades gorges

Breakfast in the Riad. 

LET'S EMBARK ON A JOURNEY TO DISCOVER ONE OF MOROCCO'S UNESCO HERITAGE SITES. 

After ensuring our belongings are properly arranged, we shall set forth towards Ouarzazate, traversing the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi'n Tichka pass (2260 meters). Along this scenic route, we'll be treated to breathtaking vistas of the rugged mountain landscape. Our destination is the remarkable Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a magnificent sandcastle perched atop a clay hill, enveloped by verdant almond trees. This kasbah, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a testament to the enduring architectural legacy of southern Morocco, preserved in its pristine form unlike any other. Continuing our journey, we'll venture into the enchanting Dades Valley, where the rugged beauty of the terrain captivates the soul. An evening of culinary delights and restful repose awaits us at our Hotel/Riad.

Day 6

Dades gorges, Todra gorges, Merzouga, Camel Trek in the desert

Breakfast in the Riad. THE DESERT AWAITS. After breakfast, we journey through Morocco's captivating landscapes. First, we explore the picturesque Dades Valley, with its stunning gorges carved by nature's hand over millennia. Continuing, we reach the awe-inspiring Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs and lush palm groves create a scene of unparalleled beauty.

 

Next, we visit Erfoud, a city rich in history and renowned for its fossil abundance, offering insight into the region's geological heritage. Our path then leads to Merzouga, where a camel ride awaits. Mounted on these magnificent creatures, we venture into the Sahara, basking in its timeless beauty.

 

As the sun sets, we arrive at a traditional Berber-style tented camp amidst the dunes. Gathered around a campfire under the starry sky, we indulge in Moroccan cuisine and share stories. Tonight, we embrace the tranquility of the desert, where dreams merge with the night.

Day 7

Erg Chebbi desert and Merzouga

Rise early to witness the ethereal sunrise and the mesmerizing transformation of the dunes as they catch the first light of day. Following a delightful breakfast, our journey continues on camelback. 

BUT HOW DOES THE NOMADIC COMMUNITY THRIVE IN THE MOROCCAN SAHARA? 

Upon arrival in Merzouga, we embark on a jeep excursion to explore the desert's fossil quarries. We traverse the quaint village of Hassi Labied, a backdrop for numerous cinematic masterpieces, before venturing along the historic Paris Dakar rally route, traversing the starkly beautiful black desert adorned with volcanic stones. Our adventure leads us to Kamlia village, renowned for its vibrant culture and annual music and dance festival celebrating the rich heritage of its sub-Saharan African residents. Pausing amidst the tranquil oasis of Tissardmin, we journey onwards to a nomadic encampment, where we intimately connect with a local family, delving into the intricacies of their traditional lifestyle. Following a delectable lunch, we retreat to our hotel, offering a leisurely afternoon to ascend the dunes and relish in the breathtaking spectacle of the sunset. Indulge in a sumptuous dinner and unwind with an overnight stay in the comfort of our hotel, poised majestically against the backdrop of the dunes.

Day 8

Merzouga, Ziz Valley, Midelt, Fes

EMBARKING ON A JOURNEY TO FES (approximately 7 hours of travel). Following breakfast, we bid farewell to the enchanting Saharan Dunes, setting forth on our expedition towards the Ziz Valley, traversing the Errachidia province. En route, we venture through the picturesque landscapes of the Middle Atlas mountain range, pausing in Midelt for a refined lunch experience.

 

After our midday reprieve, our path leads us to Azrou, a charming Berber village nestled within a natural sanctuary spanning 53,000 hectares of limestone plateau, embraced by cedar and oak forests, amidst ancient volcanic formations. Azrou is renowned for its captivating population of monkeys frolicking amidst the verdant surrounds. Continuing our odyssey, we journey towards Ifrane, affectionately known as the "Switzerland of Morocco" for its picturesque chalet-style architecture. Here, amidst the idyllic setting, we indulge in a leisurely stroll before resuming our voyage towards Fes, where we shall arrive in the late afternoon, greeted by moments of serenity and reflection. A tranquil evening beckons, offering respite and exploration within the captivating embrace of a Riad.

Day 9

Fes, Volubulis, Meknes, Chefchaouen

Breakfast at the Riad. 

MEKNES, VOLUBILIS, CHEFCHAOUEN: A JOURNEY THROUGH EMOTION! Following breakfast, we embark on a captivating exploration, beginning with the awe-inspiring Roman ruins of Volubilis, honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded by the Carthaginians in the 3rd century BC, Volubilis flourished under Roman rule from 40 AD. Our odyssey then leads us to Meknes, the Ismaelian capital, and the most intimate of the imperial cities, renowned for its majestic 40-kilometer walls, the iconic Bab Mansour gate, regal palaces, and the vibrant Jewish quarter. After immersing ourselves in the splendor of Meknes, we journey onward to the enchanting blue-hued haven of Chefchaouen, where we shall arrive after a journey of approximately 3 hours. Indulge in a delightful dinner and retire for the evening in the comfort of our hotel, nestled amidst the allure of Chefchaouen.

Day 10

Chefchaouen, Fes

DISCOVERING THE BLUE PEARL BEFORE OUR RETURN TO FES. 

After indulging in breakfast, immerse yourself in the charm of Chefchaouen (simply known as Chaouen), the picturesque white and blue gem nestled between two mountains and founded in 1471. Its labyrinthine narrow streets, adorned with whitewashed and indigo-hued buildings, picturesque squares, ornate fountains, and intricately decorated doorways, evoke an ethereal ambiance. Considered a "holy city" with its eight mosques, Chaouen's original population comprised Andalusian exiles, both Muslims and Jews, lending its old quarter a distinct Andalusian charm. The ancient city, built atop the mountain where the Ras al-Ma river springs flow, features Uta al-Hamman square as its heart, adorned with a fortress and a mosque boasting an octagonal-based tower. As we conclude our exploration of this sacred enclave, we embark on our journey back to Fes, where upon arrival, you will have leisure time to commence your exploration of the vibrant Medina. Retreat for the night at the Riad, filled with memories of Chefchaouen's enchanting allure.

DISCOVERING THE OLDEST OF THE IMPERIAL CITIES (UNESCO heritage) 

At 9:00 in the morning, following a delightful breakfast, embark on a guided exploration of the Fes Medina, led by a knowledgeable local guide. Fes, steeped in history, stands as the oldest of the imperial cities, tracing its roots back to 808 AD as the inaugural political, religious, and cultural nucleus of the nation. Our journey commences through the majestic Golden Gates of the Royal Palace, affording us a panoramic view of the encompassing walls that cradle the ancient Fes Medina. A leisurely stroll ensues, inviting us to immerse ourselves in the enchanting tapestry of sensations that the Medina unfurls before its visitors. Mosques, medersas, caravanserais, and sacred sites unveil themselves as we traverse the labyrinthine alleys, culminating in the vibrant tanner's quarter. Following a delectable lunch (please note lunch cost is not included), our exploration extends to the artisan quarter, a testament to Fes's enduring legacy as the "city of artisans.", and then we bid adieu to Fes-Saiss Airport, marking the conclusion of our enriching journey.
